Welcome

I study how to make robots that are better at perceiving and responding to social context.

I just finished my PhD at Yale University (CV) working with Marynel Vázquez in the Yale Interactive Machines Group. My projects have included modeling conversational groups and predicting human intent to interact with a robot. As a platform for my work, I helped develop Shutter, a robot photographer, a low-cost, open source robot. Find out more about Shutter here! I've also recently published the People Approaching Robots Database (PAR-D), which includes a dataset collected from deploying Shutter around Yale. You can find details about the dataset and download it here.
