RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

2019 - 2021 Yale Interactive Machines Group

- Researching robot social behavior in groups, social group detection, and social norm violation recognition

- Leading team of undergraduate students developing robotic photographer platform for studying human-robot interaction and robot social behavior

- Mentored 6 undergraduate students on research projects ranging from group detection to modeling mental states to predicting future engagement

2021 Argo A.I.

- Defining relevance scoring for autonomous vehicles using trajectory forecasting models as a proxy for proprietary motion planner

- Developing onboard relevance model for autonomous vehicles to reduce computational resources allocated to irrelevant actors

2018 Brigham Young University Perception, Cognition & Control Lab

- Worked with team of 3 students to explore relationships between structured variational autoencoders, generative adversarial networks, and reinforcement learning

- Used variants of variational autoencoders to create a class-conditional structure enabling task transfer in reinforcement learning
